The brand was a lifetime in the making. Growing up, Chenoa Storm had a front-row seat to her father’s craft. From her own mini-chair beside the seamstress station as a toddler to helping in the showroom after school, she watched Milton Johnson build Montecristi Custom Hat Works into one of the world’s most respected custom hat brands.
Under her father’s tutelage, Chenoa learned that exceptional hats begin with exceptional materials. Today, STORM leverages those same relationships cultivated over 50 years—from weavers in the Ecuadorian Andes to 250-year-old fur felt producers in Eastern Europe. Each hat is then hand-finished in our Santa Fe studio, where tradition meets contemporary design.
